William S. Sylvia Sr.

Sylvia, William S., Sr. “Bill” of South Weymouth, age 83, passed away on November 28, 2022. Bill was born in Taunton to the late Evelyn and William Sylvia. He attended Taunton High School and was a proud United States Air Force veteran. Bill retired 20 years ago as a Weymouth Firefighter, after 25 years of service. He was a hard worker and always kept his home and yard in beautiful shape. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife and fishing.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Lucille (Montanaro) Sylvia of South Weymouth. Loving father to William S. Sylvia, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Hanson, Steven Sylvia of North Port, FL and his wife Lisa and Tina Sylvia and her husband Phil Caruso of Pembroke. Dear brother of Richard Sylvia of Taunton and Carol Lawrence. Cherished Grandpa of 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours 4-8 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral mass will be held in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM on Friday, December 16, 2022. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 PM.
