William S. “Bill” Hill

Hill, William S. “Bill” of Weymouth, died November 24, 2020.

Sadly our dear friend, Bill, passed peacefully surrounded by so much love from his girls Janet and Christine, and loyal companion Leonard. Although Bill is no longer with us he will be remembered for the amazing husband he was to Janet, the deep love he always had for his children – James “Fatts Peppahs” and Christine Hill, and for being the amazing companion anyone would’ve been lucky to have.

In his earlier years, Bill enjoyed spending his summers on his family’s tobacco farm in Virginia – growing quite the bond with Cousin Judy, and later with his family reunions in Pennsylvania.  Bill took great pride in his most recent work for the American Red Cross over the past several years.

He had such an enthusiasm for his vegetable garden, enjoyed boating and was an avid fisherman. He was a fan of all genres of music, most favorite being The Grateful Dead. Most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family, friends, and all the kids and dogs.

It’s a severe understatement to say we lost a good man, because he was so much more than that. We will miss Bill’s rosey grin, contagious belly laugh, great sense of humor, caring personality and beautiful soul.

Beloved husband of 31 years to Janet Hill of Weymouth.  Loving father of Christine Hill and the late James “Fatts Peppahs” Hill both of Weymouth. Devoted son of the late Richard and Lessie Hill.  Caring brother of Deborah McGarry of Rockland, Virginia Hill of Hanson and the late Richard Hill.  Cherished Papa Hill to his Granddog Leonard and all his “Grandkids.” Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Granting Bill’s wishes, we will not hold any formal services. A celebration of life will take place after Covid-19.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to American Red Cross, 100 Cummings Center, Suite 207-F, Beverly, MA 01915 or to New England Wildlife Center at www.newildlife.org.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Bill’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message.
