William R. “Bill” Morin, 72, of Hanover, passed away surrounded by his devoted wife, Peg, and family on February 2, 2024.
Born in Boston and raised in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Robert and Clare (Whalen) Morin. Bill was a graduate of Weymouth High School where he excelled in Track and became State Champion in the 300 yard indoor dash. On track scholarship he attended and graduated from Northeastern University, where later he was appointed a Senior Lecturer. After many successful years at the MBTA, Bill retired as I.T. Director.
Always an athlete, Bill was very proud to have run several marathons with his three brothers. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his motorcycle with the camaraderie of his friends. Bill was a history buff and particularly appreciated military history. He was also a serious animal advocate, volunteering and supporting local shelters. He and Peg rescued and fostered countless animals over the years.
Most of all, Bill had a huge heart and was a loyal husband, son, brother, uncle, neighbor, and life-long friend. He always extended himself to help everyone in his life with patience, kindness and little fanfare.
Beloved husband of Margaret (Beaudoin) Morin of Hanover. Cherished brother of Robert Morin and his wife Martha Tomich of Plymouth, Gary Morin and his wife Robin Mailloux Morin of Hanson, David Morin and his wife Mary of Norwell. Brother-in-law to Jerry Beaudoin and his wife Suellen of Weymouth, Mary Cordeiro and her husband Paul of Abington and Thomas Beaudoin of Quincy. Bill will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, February 17 from 11AM-2 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice. In addition Bill would appreciate your thanking a veteran for their sacrifice and service to our country.
