William P. Patterson

Patterson, William P. of Hull, formerly of Newton Highlands and Needham, age 75 died June 26, 2008. Born in Poughkeepsie and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Following graduation from high school, he entered the seminary, where he studied for a year and a half. Mr. Patterson graduated from Syracuse University and went to work for the Dept. of Interior , first in northern California and Nevada fighting forest fires, then for the Bureau of Land Management in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. At the time of his retirement after 38 years of service, he was in charge of the Boston office and held the title of regional environmental officer, reporting directly to the Office of the Secretary of the Dept. of Interior. Devoted husband of Lillian (Perricone) Patterson. Loving father of Timothy Patterson of Duluth, GA, Jean Gurley of Londonderry, NH, Gwyn Johnson of Woodbury, NJ and Glynis Patterson of Maynard,MA Caring step-father of of the late James O’Toole of Lake Mary, FL, Colleen Ciaccio of Monroe Township, NJ and Cynthia O’Toole of Staten Island, NY. Dear brother of Marguerite Patterson of Dover, NH and Kathleen Patterson of Red Hook, NY. Also survived by three grandchildren, five step – grandchildren, one niece and two nephews. Services were private.
