Malloy, William P., age 45, of San Jose, CA, formerly of Quincy, MA passed away unexpectedly December 11, 2003. An engineer at Sun Microsystems in Menlo Park, CA. Devoted son of the late Richard J. Malloy, Sr. and Joan E. (Parnell) Malloy. Devoted brother of the late Maureen H. Malloy. He is survived by his devoted brothers & sisters Joan Olson of W. Bridgewater, MA, Richard J. Malloy, Jr. of Brockton, MA, Deborah Malloy of Wollaston, MA, Thomas Malloy of Whitman, MA, Patrick Malloy of Burbank, CA, Anne Burke of Zebulon, NC, Christopher Malloy of Quincy, MA and Michael Malloy of Wollaston, MA, his 17 nieces & nephews, his Godsons Daniel R. Malloy of Whitman, MA & Mark R. Malloy of Quincy, MA many aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, MA Saturday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston, MA at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA.William was a 1976 graduate of North Quincy High School, Suffolk University Class of 1981 Summa Cum Laude and the University of Arizona Class of 1983 Magna Cum Laude. His degrees were in physics and computer science. He worked as an engineer for Sun Microsystems in Menlo Park, CA and has lived in San Jose, CA since 1986. He was devoted to his family and many friends. His wide ranging interests included traveling to visit his family, trips to Ireland, England, France and Australia, science fiction books, movies, computers, and above all else his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He made an effort to see each of them at least once a year.
