William O. Hanson Jr.

Hanson, William O., Jr. of Quincy, died June 14, 2014.

Beloved husband to Jean (McGranachan) Hanson of Quincy.  Son to the late William O. Sr. and Helen “Jo” (McCarthy) Hanson. Cherished cousin to Claire Walsh of Flushing, NY.

Bill proudly served his country with the United States Army and went on to work as a civil engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works for 38 years. He loved gardening and opera music. He will be remembered for his quiet, hard working nature, but also for his sense of humor. Bill was a very caring man and always took care of his family. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
