William Mackey

Mackey, William of Quincy and Venice, FL, died May 31, 2016.  

Bill’s family was most important to him and he enjoyed being the first to share the family news with everyone. Bill liked to watch the stock market. He was proud to be a retired MBTA worker. For forty years, he played poker with a group of lifelong friends. He was a loyal and happy man who lived a long life and will be missed. 

Husband of the late Mary (Cronin) Mackey and Claire (Meehan) Pastor Mackey. Loving father of William Mackey of Quincy, Joseph Mackey and his wife Carlene of South Hero, VT, James Mackey and his wife Susan of Concord, Mary Hart and her husband John of Hanover, Robert Mackey and his wife Jean of Quincy, John Mackey and his wife Patti of Golden, CO, and Eileen Schwartz and her husband Neil of Quincy. Cherished brother of Christine Fulton of Quincy and predeceased by 3 siblings. Also survived by his sister-in-law Ann Mackey of Hull, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
