BRAINTREE – William M. Blake, of Braintree, formerly of Quincy, a retired deputy sheriff with the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office, died on April 14, 2010 at the Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Weymouth. He was 78. Bill was born in Boston and attended Roxbury Memorial High School. A very personable and hardworking man, Bill used these traits in 31 years of service to the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office and throughout many years of work in real estate. He also devoted his time and talent to other activities including the Knights of Columbus Pere Marquette Council in South Boston where was a Past Grand Knight. The loving husband of Barbara A. (Morgan) Blake, he was also the loving father of Barbara Brash and her husband Steven of Pembroke, Donna DeLuca and her husband Michael of Weymouth, Steven Blake of Abington, Kathleen DiCarlo and her husband Anthony of Plymouth, James Blake of Quincy and Lisa Watts and her husband Gerald of Halifax; the fun and special “Papa” to twelve grandchildren and the brother of Mary Flaherty of Braintree, Donald Blake of Scituate, Paul Blake of Quincy and James Blake of FL. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday, 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
