William L. Rooney

Rooney, William L. of N. Quincy May 11, 2006, dearly loved husband for 50 years of Lorraine (Frizzell) Rooney. Devoted father of Teresa and her husband Joseph Peters, Mark Rooney and his wife Patricia, all of Quincy, Karen and her husband William Stacy of Pembroke. Loving “Papa” to Matthew, Caitlyn and Courtney Peters; Michael, Brian and Andrew Rooney; Billy and Tricia Stacy. Beloved brother of Dorothy Donovan, Paul Rooney, Thomas Rooney, and the late Robert and James Rooney. Also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the CAM NEELY FOUNDATION, 30 Winter St. – 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02108. Bill was an Army Veteran WWII; a Past Adjutant Robert I. Nickerson Post in Squantum. He was a life member of Greater Quincy Council K of C and a member of the Castle Island Association. He retired from Gillette Co. in 1988 and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Bill was an avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Bruins.
