William J. O’Neill

O’Neill, William J. age 75 of Apalachin, NY, formerly of Quincy, September 12, 2007. He is pre-deceased by his parents William & Margaret O’Neill. The beloved husband of Mary A. O’Neill of Apalachin, NY. Loving father of Nancy O’Neill of Washington, DC, William J. O’Neill, Jr. of Fresno,CA and Mary- Ann Shirven and her husband Michael of Rockville, MD. Cherished grandfather of Christopher Shirven of Rockville, MD. Brother of Peggy O”Neill of Middleboro, Barbara Logan and her husband Tom of Quincy, Joseph O’Neill of Weymouth and the late Richard O’Neill. Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was an electrical engineer graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and IBM Endicott employee, retiring after 32 years of service. A veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army, a member of the George F. Johnson American Legion Post 82, Endicott. A member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1977 Endicott ans was an Eagle Scout. A longtime member and board member of the Tioga Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and was an avid woodworker. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Wollaston Tuesday at 9:00 am. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1000 Sea Street Tuesday at 10:00 am. Visiting hours Monday 6 – 8 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Reasearch in care of Church ST. Station , P.O. Box 780, New York, New York 10008–0780.
