William J. Gately

Gately, William J. “Bill” of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, August 24, 2005. Beloved husband of Eleanor M. (O’Shea) Gately of Quincy. Loving father of Aimee J. Mailhiot of Quincy and William J. Gately of Rockland. Brother of Alice M. Kilmurray of E. Harwich. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Bill enjoyed bowling over the years. He was involved in many bowling leagues in Quincy and Dorchester. He loved to play cards especially cribbage. It was a hobby he started to play with his father and then later continued the tradition with his wife Eleanor. Mr. Gately enjoyed traveling across the United States and took several cruises over the years. Bill had a “green thumb” in his garden and grew all types of flowers and vegetables. Above all else, Mr. Gately loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. Donations in memory of Mr. Gately may be made to Fr. Bill’s Place 38 Broad St. Quincy, MA 02169.
