Fitzpatrick, William J. of Quincy, ret. BPD, formerly of CO and South Boston, September 8, 2006. Husband of the late Mary (McDougall). Former husband of Barbara Daugherty. Loving father of Mary-Margaret Alessi of Quincy, Brenda Sompolski of Chicago, IL, William J., Brian, both of Denver, CO. Brother of Edward of Westwood, Joanna Alberto of Norwood and the late Harry Greenlaw and Mary O’Malley. Also lovingly survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 PM. Burial in Old Calvary Cemetery, Boston. Mr. Fitzpatrick was born in Boston and educated in the Boston Public Schools. He served as a Boston Police Officer for 28 years and was a member of the Boston Police Patrolman’s Association, the William R. Caddy Marine Detachment Post in Quincy, the Norwood Elks, the V.F.W. Post #1018 and the American Legion Post #65. Mr. Fitzpatrick was boxing trainer for the Middleweight Champion of the World Eddie Connors. Above all, William loved his family and friends. He enjoyed golf, trips to Vegas and Foxwoods. He was a WWll Navy Veteren. Donations in memory of Mr. Fitzpatrick may be made to the Veterans Homeless Shelter, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
