William J. Currie

Currie, William J. of E. Bridgewater, formerly of Dedham May 8, 2006. The beloved husband of Margaret (Hardie) Currie. Loving father of Andrew Currie of Georgetown and Cybel Milne of E. Bridgewater. Brother of Maisie Ritchie and Margaret Cunningham, both of Scotland. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON (Quincy) Friday at 11 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Cremation will follow. William worked as a machinist in research and development for Haemonetics in Braintree, retiring in 1991. He came to the U.S. in 1954 from Scotland and lived in Dedham for 37 years before moving to East Bridgewater four years ago. While in Scotland, he served in the Royal Navy as a Chief Petty Officer during WWII and later during the Korean Conflict. He was trained in Glascow, Scotland as a mining engineer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Natick and played in the Salvation Army Band. He and his wife Margaret were married for 62 years.
