Belanger, William J. “Bill” of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 9, 2024. He was 90.
Born in Boston in 1933, and raised in Dorchester, he was the son of the late William A. and Margaret (Healy) Belanger.
Bill retired from the Boston Naval Yard as a precision machinist. He enjoyed walks near the ocean, gardening, reading, and in his younger years, camping and fishing. He was a proud father, grandfather, and above all, a devoted and loving husband. He was a gentle and thoughtful man who always extended a helping hand to others, and never hesitated to aid an injured or lost animal.
Loving husband of 66 years to Margaret “Peg” Belanger of Weymouth. Cherished father to Kim Penney and her husband Kevin of Braintree, Beverly Lovett and her late husband Bob of Duxbury, Bill Belanger and his wife Kelly of FL, and the late Lauralee Pecce. Grandfather to Brian, Scott, Christopher, Taylor, Brooke, Lindsey, Bill, Josh, Searra, Matthew, Bella, and Jake. Brother to Paul Belanger and his wife Barbara of Hanover, the late Peggy Tiberi, the late Jack Belanger, and the late Jeanine Hulak.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 PM in Old South Union Church, Weymouth. Burial in Braintree Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital, Leukemia and Lymphoma Fund, Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540 Boston, MA 02114 or https://giving.massgeneral.org/donate opened in Loving Memory to his late son-in-law Robert Lovett.
