William M. Hoxie of East Sandwich and South Weymouth passed away at the age of 91 on November 11, 2024, Veteran’s Day.
Born in Quincy on January 28, 1933, he was the son of the late Everett W. and Alice M. Malone Hoxie.
Proud graduate of Quincy High School Class of 1950, he went on to graduate from Bentley College Class of 1952. William attended the U.S. Army School of Finance and Served in U.S. Army 1953-1955 in Nurnberg, Germany. He was very involved in the town of Weymouth. William was a member of Weymouth Jaycees, Former State Member of Weymouth Redevelopment Authority, as well as Former Weymouth Town Meeting Member, Former Member St. Francis Council 5027 Knights of Columbus. William was part of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation, and coached Weymouth Farm League and Weymouth Youth Hockey. He was also a devoted Occupation Accounting Mgr. for D.J. Cutter Co. for 40 years.
Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Eldana A. (Casna) Hoxie. Cherished father of Kevin W. Hoxie and his wife Kristine of Kingston, Steven M. Hoxie and his wife Kellie of South Weymouth and Susan M. Hoxie and her husband Thomas of Manhattan New York. Also, his beloved grandsons Kyle and Kristofer Hoxie. Brother of the late Richard J. Hoxie and Alyce Morrissey of Belmont.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday from 9-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). There will be a service in the funeral home immediately following the visiting hours at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
