William G. Preskins, Jr

Preskins, William G., Jr of Quincy, passed away September 7, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Pearl Preskins. Loving father of William G. Preskins, III and his wife, Linda, of Gilford, NH, and Kathleen M. Crowley of Marshfield. Brother of Dorothy Tiefenthal of Berkeley. Also survived by his three grandchildren, Sharon E. Born in Haverhill, Bill had lived in Arlington for several years before moving to Quincy. Until his retirement, he had worked for 45 years as a machinest for the Gillette Company. Bill held all things dear to his heart, his family and his country. He loved his wife Pearl and missed her dearly upon her passing. He loved his children Billy and Kathy and would do anything he could to make them happy and their lives easier. Bill was his sons anchor and his daughter’s lighthouse, he was a pillar of strength for all who knew him. He loved his country and fought in 3 invasions in WW II. Upon his return home he volunteered at the USS Cassin Young for over 20 years. He was a true patriot! His other joy was feeding the birds who came to visit him every day no matter where he was. He would sneak food from the dining room at River Bay and feed the birds much to the chagrin of the staff. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 9-10:30AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM.
