William F. Leone

William F. Leone of Weymouth, passed peacefully into eternal life on June 8, 2016. He was born July 11, 1929 in Weymouth.

He is survived by his wife Margaret M. Leone (Peggy Heaver) – they were just a few weeks shy of their 55th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his son William J. Leone (Billy) and daughter Anne M. Leone. Bill was one of nine siblings. He is survived by his brothers Joe Leone, Fred Leone, and Dick Leone. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Lucy Ciaviattieri, Betty Sheppard, Mary Galante and his brothers Gus and Tony. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His parents were Giuseppe (Joseph) Leone and Elizabeth Leone (nee Guiducci).

As a young man, Bill was a proud member of the Weymouth Fire Department for 3+ years. He then went into business and was a part-owner/employee of Mercury Metal Products with his brother Fred and brother-in-law Fred Galante (located in Rockland and later Abington). Bill cherished his many relatives, neighbors and friends. Always the first one to get a call when something around the house needed repair, he was a pretty good handy-man. He truly loved taking care of his home, tending to his lawn and fussing with his tomato garden. A lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins, he also loved the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. If there was a game on TV, he was watching! He was an avid golfer and spent a lot of time as a member at South Shore Country Club and Presidents Golf Course.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
