William F. Chouinard

William F. Chouinard, 79, of Weymouth, died Wednesday.

He was born to the late Raoul and Anna Chouinard, Jan. 21, 1935, in Holyoke, MA. Bill graduated from Holyoke High School in 1952, enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served honorably during the Korean War and received a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1960. He married Lauretta Hourin in 1963 they lived together and raised their family in Hanover, before relocating to Weymouth in 1988. Bill was Executive Vice President of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, an Independent Business Owner, Consultant to the Newark Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director of the Ironbound Manufacturer’s Association; he retired in 2002.  Bill was an avid golfer and spent much of his retirement at the Green Harbor Golf Club in Marshfield, MA. Bill served on the Board at the Joslin Diabetes Center, was active in their summer camp program and had several family members afflicted by diabetes. 

Bill is survived by his Wife of fifty years, Lauretta H. Chouinard and three sons and their wives: Robert A. Chouinard and Patricia A. Chouinard of Hingham, MA; Peter F. Chouinard and Penelope M. Chouinard of Livermore, CA; and William J. Chouinard and Jennifer V. Piccioli of Franklin, MA. He is also survived by six grandchildren Matthew B. Chouinard, Michelle E. Chouinard, Elizabeth M. Chouinard, Sofia C. Chouinard, Chloe A. Chouinard and Connor F. Chouinard.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. in The Church of Saint Francis Xavier, 236 Pleasant Street, South Weymouth, MA.
