William E. Tormey, Jr., 91, of Weymouth, passed away October 2, 2014 at home.
Born at home in Brockton, Bill was raised and lived in Weymouth for most of his life. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School class of 1941. He went on to proudly serve in the Navy during World War II. After returning from the war he worked for Braintree TV & Appliance and Medical Strategies. He was a long time member of the Weymouth Historical Society, HAM radio, and Patrol Craft Sailors Association (PC 1178).
Beloved husband of the late Eleanor J. (Shea) Tormey, married for 63 years. Father of William and Cheryl Tormey of Bourne, James and Susan Tormey of Abington, John and Amy Tormey of Tyngsborough, and Jean D’Arcy of Weymouth. Father in Law of Mary Tormey and Tom D’Arcy. Brother of Robert Tormey of Weymouth, the late Louise Spillane, Patricia Mulready and Irene Tormey. Son of the late William E. Tormey, Sr. and Irene Tormey. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
