William E. “Bill” Leary

Leary, William E. “Bill” of Hingham, passed away April 20, 2012. Beloved husband of 61 years to Ellen P. (Pickett) Leary. Loving father to William E. Leary of Hingham, Ellen M. Edelman of Glen Echo MD. and the late James T. Leary. Brother of the late Thomas Leary and Allene Murphy. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bill was born in Boston, and lived many years in Hingham. Until his retirement in 1987, he worked for John Hancock Life Insurance Company, retiring as a Senior Vice President. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, spending time with his family, and he always just loved to work. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Harvard College and was also in the Columbia University Advanced Management Program in 1968. He was also a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army. He will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
