William Dean

William (Bill) Dean passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends February 27, 2025. Bill was born in Beverly, Massachusetts on December 15, 1945 to Joseph and Ethel (Herrick) Dean. Son of a Navy seaman, Bill spent most of his time as a young child with his father at the seaport either working on or sailing on a boat. No surprise, his first career was a full time fisherman. In 1975, he switched careers to become a machinist. The sea was his first and only love until Patricia (Boland) Dean came into his life at Sandy's Dance Hall in Beverly in 1968. Bill and Pat fell in love then got married in 1969. Bill and Pat settled in Medford, Massachusetts for their entire married life eventually moving into Pat's family home in 1980. It was in Medford where they met life-long friends Steve and Kathy Shea. Bill and Pat were married for nearly 50 years until Pat's passing in 2019. After Pat's passing, Bill moved to Ponte Vedra, Florida to be closer to his "favorite" son Brian. Bill moved into the Del Webb community in Nocatee where was a founding member of the Pool and Billiards club. Bill helped to organize and power the team to victory at their first inter-community pool tournament.

Bill leaves behind a daughter Cathy (60) of Beverly, MA and sons Michael (54) of Norwell, MA and Brian (53) of Ponte Vedra, FL along with several close family and friends.
