William C. “Billy” Creed, Jr.

Mr. William C., “Billy” Creed Jr, of Weymouth, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on September 22, 2021. He was 71.

Billy worked for Verizon Phone company as a contract work inspector for 36 years until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of Local # 2222, as well as an avid golfer at Strawberry Valley Golf Club in Abington. Billy was an avid basketball player in his youth for MPB CYO, Boston Park League and also Dedham, and Milton Leagues. A faithful communicant, Billy also volunteered for many years at  Saint Francis Xavier Paish in Weymouth. 

Born in Boston, a son of the late William C. Creed, Sr and Mary A. (Garvey) Creed.

Beloved husband of  Virginia M. “Ginger” (Hollum) Creed.

Loving father of Colleen Farrell and her husband, Jeff, of Dracut, Christine Creed of Weymouth, and James Creed and his wife, Laura, of Bridgewater. Brother of Daniel Creed of Virginia, Edward Creed of California, Jack Creed of Roslindale, Eileen Garron of Marlboro, Barbara Creed of Randolph, and the late James Creed, Thomas Creed, and Kathleen Hattis. Cherished Grandafather of Erin, Shannon, Katharine, Bridget, and Emma. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow in in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.

The family would like to thank the staff and the compassion care of Hospice of the South Shore as well as South Shore Visiting Nurses Association. during Billy’s illness.
