Pernavas, William “Bill” of Halifax, formerly of Dorchester died on March 25, 2010. He was 93. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (Reynolds) Pernavas. Cherished companion of the late Olive McKenna. Loving brother of Anthony Pernavas of Somerville and the late Nellie Johnson. Loving uncle of William Johnson and his wife Claire and several other nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Joyce McKenna, Kenneth McKenna and Gayle Dalrymple. William worked as a welding supervisor at the Boston Naval Shipyard for 33 years, retiring in 1973. He served in the Army during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Old Colony Yacht Club and a member of the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 1279. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday 3-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, Ma. A Funeral Service will follow at 6pm. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Vineyard Haven at a later date. Donations in memory of William may be made to Old Colony Elder Services, 144 Main Street, Brockton MA 02301.
