William A. Doyle

William A. Doyle, 90, of Hingham, formerly of North Quincy and Dorchester Lower Mills, passed away on February 15 at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Margaret T. Meehan Doyle and Mary T. (Curran) Doyle. Devoted father of Marie Doyle of Hingham and the late Paul R. Doyle of Dorchester Lower Mills, Stepfather of Warren Meehan, John (Jack) Meehan, Robert Meehan, James Meehan and Michael Meehan all of Marshfield. Bill was the son of the late Matthew H. and Margaret Clemens Doyle and the brother of the late John J. Doyle of Boston and the late Matthew C. Doyle of Long Island, New York. For many years, Bill was the manager of sales auditing at Jordan Marsh Company before moving on to Bird and Son of East Walpole where he was a systems analyst and vice president. Bill later worked for several small manufacturing companies in a similar capacity before retiring from Weir Valve of Ipswich MA. Bill was a most devoted husband and a very loving father. He was an avid golfer and swimmer and enjoyed vacationing for many years in New Hampshire and Florida. After Bill and Peggy married, they enjoyed spending part of each year in Longboat Key, FL. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2010 prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church at 11 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Weymouth Food Pantry, PO Box 890009, East Weymouth MA 02189-0001 or to a charity of your own choice.
