Will J. Lessard, 89, of Quincy, formerly of Beacon Hill, Boston, and former Executive Vice President of Chas. T. Main Engineers, died September 25, 2003. Mr. Lessard was born in Manchester, NH, graduated from St. Anselm’s College and the University of Alabama with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served on the Board of Directors of Chas. T. Main, Inc. and was Chairman of the Board of the American Institute of Management. He was a Director on the National Board of the American Consulting Engineers Council, the Advisory Board of Lowell Technological Institute of the University of Massachusetts, the Finance Committee of the University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation. He was a member of the Newcomen Society of North America and Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Society (T.A.P.P.I.). Will was an avid golfer and hit two hole-in-ones on the same hole, the same course (Portsmouth, NH), ten years apart. He served on the Board of Trustees of York Golf Club, York, Maine. He enjoyed taking his 52 ft. Hatteras Yacht “Swamiko”, between Maine and Florida annually through the intracoastal waterway, and was a member of the Ocean Reef Yacht Club, North Key Largo, Florida.He is survived by his closest friends Barbara Doll of Quincy, Dr. Kristine Doll of Salem, Dr. Bonnie Freund of Virginia and Amie Kandalaft of Weymouth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday October 25, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy.Donations may be made in his memory to Carney Hospital Foundation, 2100 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester, MA 02124.
