Kenney, Warren F “Whitey” of Squantum formerly of South Boston, died on January 6, 2012, surrounded by the family he cherished. The beloved husband of the late Julia (King) Kenney. Devoted father of Warren F. Kenney, Jr, Christine Norton and her husband Donald, Judy Downey and her husband Arthur all of Squantum and Charles Kenney and his wife Lynn of Scituate and the late Jacqueline Thornton. Warren is pre-deceased by 5 brothers and sisters. Brother in law of Kathleen Kenney of South Boston. Cherished “POPPY” of Michael, Damien, Annar, Danielle, Valerie, Kyle, Zachary, Julianne, Marco, Kyle, Jeremy, Lauren, Katie and his great grandson Nicholas. Whitey was born and raised in South Boston, he served in the United States Army. He worked as an operations manager for trade shows and conventions. Whitey had a strong work ethic, which made him a great provider for his family. He enjoyed following New England sports teams and loved to bowl, but the essence of his life was his family. They were the foundation of all that was truly important to him. He devoted his life to them. They will remember him as a devoted and generous father with a giant heart. His passing leaves a void in their lives, but his passionate sense of family will be his legacy which will live on in their hearts forever. They are all grateful for all the blessings he brought into their lives. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:15am prior to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
