Walter W. Anderson

Walter W. Anderson of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, passed away after a long and courageous battle on October 12, 2022. 

He was born in Quincy and attended Quincy High School.  Walter went on to proudly serve in the Army, and graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology and the Boston Architectural Center to become a registered Architect.  He worked on several projects around Boston over the years often stopping to say, “I did some drawings for that building”.  He never turned down the opportunity to do a drawing when a friend or family was in need.  Walter enjoyed extensive world travel with his wife, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.  He was always watching PBS, reading articles and stories about history, the ocean and the world and was always ready to share what he learned.  Telling a good story about something he remembered was what he was best at.  Although most of all he enjoyed time with his family and driving his little red truck (with the new chrome rims) to Dunkin Donuts for a coffee and corn muffin. 

Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Joan Anderson. Devoted father of Steven Anderson and his wife Barbara of Spokane, WA and Kara Anderson and her partner Diane Simon of Weymouth. Cherished Grampy of Holly and Katie Anderson. Loving brother-in-law to June Amabile and Jeannie Amabile of Kennebunk, ME.  Dear brother of Sylvia Zeppi of Hingham, Irene Heckman of Oregon and David Anderson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 201 Granite St. Quincy. Burial in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
