Walter P. Gnoza

Gnoza, Walter P. of Hull, died on Friday, June 11, 2010. Beloved husband of Julia (Taintor) Gnoza of Hull. Loving father of Walter Gnoza and his wife Patti of Abington. Stepfather of Michael, Eric and Ben Blackmer and Rosie Christopher. Brother of the late Sophie, Pauli, Frankie, Tommy and Annie. Grandfather of Ben and Julianne Gnoza of Abington. Also survived by 8 step grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Walter took great pleasure in his family especially taking care of his wife Julia. He loved the water and enjoyed boating and fishing. He was also the Flotilla 1-525 Commander for the Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1963-1966. A WWII Veteran, Walter served in the US Army from 1943-1946 on Saipan, earning his marksman medal. He worked at Stop & Shop for 55 years as a baker. Walter enjoyed many activities including skiing, traveling, square dancing with his wife and an HO scale train hobbyist. He will be remembered as a humble gentleman who enjoyed a good joke. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday from 4- 8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Old Ship Church, 90 Main Street, Hingham.
