Walter “Larry” Holmes

Holmes, Walter “Larry” of Weymouth, passed away August 26, 2012. surrounded by his loving family of Lou Gehrig’s disease. Beloved son of Walter J. and June E. (Westhaver) Holmes. Loving brother of Joyce L. Doucette of North Quincy, Brian S. Holmes of Quincy, Ronald B. Holmes of South Boston, Patricia A. Castaneda of Quincy and Scott B. Holmes of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in South Boston, he enjoyed working several years at L and 4th Street garage in South Boston as well as Cassidy Funeral Home in South Boston. Larry lived for many years with his devoted parents before moving to Weymouth. Larry loved life but the love of his life was Tuesday Weld. His dream vacation was traveling to Arizona and he just loved everything about being out west. Larry loved western movies, horses, cadillacs, sundaes, going out for dinner and also Clint Eastwood, John Wayne and Elvis Presley. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 10-11 AM in the United Methodist Church, 40 Beale Street Quincy followed by his Funeral Service at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association, 315 Norwood Park South, Norwood, MA 02062
