McInerney, Walter L. of Scituate, died June 18, 2015 after a courageous battle with various health concerns.

Walter grew up in Scituate and lived in Weymouth for many years before moving back to Scituate. He was a skilled specialist in collision repair and owner of a repair business in Weymouth. Walter was a longtime counselor for the Gavin Foundation in South Boston. He enjoyed traveling to Prince Edward Island and will be remembered for his strength and sense of humor. He will be sadly missed. 

Devoted father of Craig M. McInerney and his companion Nicole Plant of Braintree, Lee M. McInerney of Abington and Thomas J. McInerney of Abington. Cherished “Papa” of Nicholas McInerney. Son of the late John and Margaret McInerney. Loving brother of Gerry McInerney of Boston, Larry McInerney of Scituate and Rosanne Ross of Marshfield. Companion of Andrea Bernasconi of Scituate. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter may be made to Boston Medical Center, Office of Development, 801 Massachusetts Avenue, First Floor, Boston, MA 02118.
