Glendye, Walter Albert, 78, of Titusville, FL., formally of Quincy passed away November 18, 2012. Son of the late Albert Glendye, Jr. of Boston & Helen Glendye of Jamaica Plain. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie Glendye (Connor) and his present wife Patricia Baker-Glendye of Swansea. Loving father of Raymond McReynolds and his wife Jody of Yuba City, CA, Wally Glendye and his wife Sue of Middleboro, Patty Glendye of Quincy, Jacqui Auriemma and her fiance Justin Obert of Plymouth. Devoted grandfather of Justin and Jordan Auriemma, Scott, Ashley and Nicole Glendye, Brandon and Katelyn McReynolds, Jaymie, Jessica, Jack, Jonah & Joel Obert. Brother of Beverly Glendye, Robert Glendye of Jamaica Plain and Helen Hardiman of Quincy along with several nieces and nephews. He served in the United States Air Force, was a standout athlete and traveled the country pitching for the Air Force national team. He was also a retired Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 36 years out of Mattapan and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Walter was also an active member of the Titusville, FL American Legion and past member of the Plymouth American Legion and John P. McKeon AMVETS post in Dorchester. An avid sports fan, Walter was known to stop in for a beer and a conversation at the Eire Pub in Dorchester and Grumpy Whites in Quincy. He also enjoyed being outdoors and was a summer resident of the Ellis Haven campground in Plymouth for the past forty years while spending his winters recently in Florida. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Walter may be made Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172, during this time of need.
