Nardo, Vito A. of Hingham July 10, 2004. Beloved husband of 51 yrs. to Barbara (Johnson) Nardo. Loving father of Thomas A. Nardo & his wife Karin of Norwell and Lori Ann Magner & her husband Richard of Hingham. Loving grandfather of Melissa & Timothy Nardo and Kevin, Molly & Jake Magner. Brother of Angela Nardo, Rose Gratta, both of Hingham, Mannie Fuda of Weymouth and the late James V. Nardo, Samuel Nardo & Mary Ciampi. Also survived my several nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-9 PM. Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham. Mr. Nardo was a lifetime Hingham resident and worked as a Hingham Police Officer and later as owner/operator of Nardo’s Package Store in Hingham. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp where he was wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart. He also received the Hingham High School Athletic Hall of Fame Award in 2003. He enjoyed coaching Farm League Baseball, Babe Ruth and was well known as “Coach” by all the members of the Legion Team. He was a member of the South Shore Country Club, the Weymouth Son’s of Italy and the D.A.V.Donations in memory of Mr. Nardo may be made to American Red Cross, 285 Columbus Ave., Boston, MA 02116.
