Whalen, Virginia M. (Doran) of Quincy (Squantum) formerly of So. Boston, August 18, 2002. Beloved wife of John J. Whalen of Squantum. Loving mother of John J. “Jack” and his wife Paula of Dedham, Richard G. and his wife Holly of Randolph, James M. and his wife Sheila of Stoughton and Judi Ann Smith and her husband Brendan of Squantum. Sister of Richard Doran of NC and Judith Klier of Weymouth. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Whalen attended Burdett College and had worked at General Accident and Insurance Co. prior to working at Squantum School. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Thursday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Squantum at 11 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
