Virginia M. Gallahue

Virginia M. (McCarthy) Gibbons Gallahue of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2016 at the age of 89. 

The beloved wife of the late James F. Gallahue and the late Charles J. Gibbons.  Loving mother of Charles Gibbons, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Plymouth, Kathleen Fennell and her husband Barry of Spring Valley, CA, Joseph and Daniel Gibbons both of Randolph, Christine DiTullio and her husband Joseph of Plymouth, Mark Gibbons and his companion Julie Wirrell of Brockton and the late James Gibbons and Gary Gibbons. Sister of the late Dorothea Barton and Charles McCarthy. Cherished grandmother of CJ and Michael Gibbons, Nicole McMorrow, Allison and Gregory Murphy, Lauren Napier, Sean, Kaitlyn and Shannon Fennell, Chelsea and Nicholas DiTullio, Anna and Maggie Gibbons and the late James Gibbons, Jr. and 5 great-grandchildren. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and the extended Gallahue family.

She was graduate of Braintree High School Class of 1944 and retired from New England Telephone Company as a manager in operator services. Virginia lived and raised her family in Weymouth before moving to Plymouth. Virginia was a member of the Town River Yacht Club and enjoyed spending her winters in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Her family meant the world to her and they are grateful for having been blessed with such a strong woman and feel honored to have called her Mom. She will be sadly missed. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM.

Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
