Virginia M. Laneau

Virginia M. (Crawford) Laneau, lifelong resident of Weymouth, died November 9, 2020, at the age of 92. 

“Ginny” graduated from Weymouth High School and worked at the First National Bank of Boston. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. Ginny, along with her late husband Bob, owned South Weymouth Car Wash, Newbury Travel of Boston, Pine Meadows Miniature Golf, and R.E. Laneau Pools. Ginny and Bob were “snowbirds” and enjoyed spending winters in Marco Island, Florida where they had many dear friends. Ginny also enjoyed baking, walking and reading. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, her love for dogs, and her phenomenal apple pie!

Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Laneau. Devoted mother of Sharon L. Cheatham, PhD, of Phoenix, AZ and Janet G. Kupris of Weymouth, the late Deborah A. Panora,and  the late Robert E. Laneau, Jr., as well as Bruce H. Hickson of Albuquerque, NM. Cherished grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren (soon to be 9 great grandchildren). Predeceased by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 20th at 10 AM in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
