Virginia L. (Perkins) Ray of Hull, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2014. Virginia was born and raised in Dorchester and has lived in Hull for over 50 years. In her early years she worked as a buyer and manager for Woolworths. She was a member of the Hull Lions Club and volunteered at both the Hull Senior Center and Colonial Nursing Home’s Daycare. Over the years Virginia welcomed 59 foster children into her home. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who was devoted to her family.
Beloved wife of the late William A. Ray. Devoted mother of William L. Ray and his wife Pat of Wisconsin, Ginger Ray of Hull, Edward J. Ray and his wife Rita of Weymouth and the late John D. Ray and Donna M. Theberge-Sims. Cherished grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Earl Perkins of Rockland, Barbara Archibald of Weymouth, Mary Hines of Abington, George Perkins of Rockland, Patricia Bovaird of Hanover, Roger Perkins of Quincy, James Perkins of Weymouth and the late John Perkins, Jeanette Cipullo, Raymond Perkins, Doris Yalowchuk and Robert Perkins. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Virginia may be made to the Hull Lions Club, P.O. Box 395, Hull, MA 02045.
