Virginia K. Humberd

Humberd, Virginia K. (Young) of South Weymouth, died peacefull June 13, 2014 at the age of 94.

While her husband served in the Marine Corps her family lived throughout the United States and Europe. After being stationed at South Weymouth Naval Air Station in the late 1950’s, the family settled in Weymouth where she became active at St. Francis Xavier Parish in church and social activities. She created many of the holiday and sacramental banners that hang in the church to this day. She loved woodworking and spending time in her garden.

She was the wife of the late Col. William C. Humberd, USMC, Ret. Loving mother of Virginia Seward of KY, William C. Humberd, Jr. and wife Susan of Norwell, Michael R. Humberd and wife Gayle of CO, Gerald S. Humberd and wife Ann Marie of Pembroke, Richard D. Humberd and wife Mary of Plymouth and Barbara A. Humberd of Weymouth. Sister of Patrick R. Young of MO. Virginia was the devoted grandmother to 13 grand and 18 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. She will be buried with her beloved husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
