Virginia A. “Gini” Melvin

MELVIN, Virginia A. “Gini” (Ward); of Rockland, formerly of So. Weymouth and Mission Hill, May 23, 2021. Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Devoted wife of the late Paul R. Melvin, and beloved mother to sons Paul Melvin II & Kimberly Rader of Norwell; Michael Melvin & Lauren Hardiman of So. Weymouth; and daughter Jennifer Melvin & Sean Ready of Rockland. Cherished grandmother & “Nana” to her “Fabulous Five” granddaughters: Jacquelyn Smith, Alyson & Ashlyn Ready and Sydney & Avery Melvin, all of whom she adored and were her greatest sense of pride and joy.

Dear daughter to the late Arthur & Mary (Fitzsimmons) Ward; sister to the late Mary Sullivan, Dorothy Higgins, Arthur “Sonny” Ward, and Francis Ward and survived by sister Margaret Sullivan and brother Michael Ward. Also predeceased and survived by many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Visiting hours THURSDAY 4-8 PM at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main St. (Rte 18), SOUTH WEYMOUTH. Funeral Friday at from the funeral home at 11am, followed by Mass celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St., So. Weymouth at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
