Virginia F. “Ginny” Normandin

NORMANDIN, Virginia F. (Gorman) “Ginny” of Acton and formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully in the loving presence of family Friday evening, September 28, 2018.  

Born in Cohasset but raised in Wollaston and Weymouth, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Bowen) Gorman.  She was proud to have been a baton twirling Drum Majorette at North Quincy High School, Class of 1949, and later briefly attended the New England School of Art, focusing on fashion design.  Ginny worked as a proofreader for many years for the Composing Room of New England, where she met her beloved husband, the late William F. Normandin. 

She is survived by loving brother Edward Gorman of Concord, NH, and predeceased by sisters Claire and Janice Gorman, Joan McCarthy,  Ann Mulcahy, and niece Carol McCarthy.  She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews – all of whom will miss her very much.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home beginning at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 o’clock. Ginny will be laid to rest with her beloved William, alongside her parents and sister Janice at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hingham at a later date.

Flowers are welcome, or, in lieu thereof, expressions of sympathy in Ginny’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
