Virginia A. Welch

Virginia A. (Lyons) Welch of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Hingham, died November 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Virginia’s passion in life was her family. She loved hosting her children and grandchildren at her home and spending time creating lifelong memories. She was everyone’s mother and put others before herself. Virginia was a warm and welcoming woman who was always positive and knew what was best when others needed help. She drew people in to her with her caring and generous nature. She enjoyed traveling and was a generous contributor to Father Bills Place. Virginia will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. 

Beloved wife of 43 years to Richard C. Welch, who predeceased her in 2009. Cherished mother of Richard C. Welch Jr. and his wife Florencia of Coral Gables, FL, Joanne Turrell and her husband Ash of Marco Island, FL, and Kathleen Taylor and her husband Kevin of Hingham. Loving sister of Edward J. Lyons and his wife Jean of Saugus. Devoted grandmother of Cameron, Bowen, and Brendan Taylor and Camila, Martina, and Delphina Welch. Special friend and companion of Phil Kerr of Marco Island, FL. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 AM Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 12 PM. Burial in Hingham Cemetery, Hingham.
