Virginia A. Porter passed away January 24, 2023 following a long illness.
She was born in Boston, graduated from St. Gregory’s High School and Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing and was a Milton resident for over 40 years. She was a beloved daughter of the late Virginia (Camardo) Ferrara. Survived by her devoted cousin Lois Powers of Quincy, and many loving cousins, Godchildren and friends. She was predeceased by her much loved four-legged friend, Max.
Her vocation as a Certified Neonatal Nurse at St. Margaret’s Hospital and then St. Elizabeth’s Hospital offered immeasurable support to “her” babies’ parents. For many years, she volunteered as a photographer for the Smithsonian taking photographs to archive the events held on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Ginni’s hobbies were photography, camping, windjammer sailing trips, world-wide traveling and skiing, She always had a cup of tea at hand.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday 9:30-11 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth’s Church, Milton, at 11:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ginni may be made to Gary Sinise Foundation, PO Box 40726, Nashville, TN 37204.
