Byrnes, Vincent J. Sr. of Milton, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Dora R. (Cimo) Byrnes and former husband of the late Catherine T. (Burke) Byrnes. Devoted father of Karen M. Fuoco of Bellingham, Patricia A. Ellis of FL, Vincent J. Byrnes, Jr. of Bellingham, Kathleen T.Higgins of Hyde Park, Edward J. Byrnes and Margaret M.Manning both of Bellingham. Loving step-father of Grace Horenian of Dedham, Dominic DeMonte of ME, Stephanie Kurpeski of Quincy, Christine Spiliakos of Peabody, Gerald DeMonte of Plainville and Michael DeMonte of Dedham. Cherished brother of Philip Byrnes of Milton and the late Gordon F., Charles M. Byrnes and Carol Hickey. Vincent is also survived by 12 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Vincent was a W.W.II U.S.Army Veteran, a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge and former P. O. W. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday from 4 PM – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s of the Hills Church at 10 AM. Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vincent may be made to the Fisher House c/o West Roxbury V.A. Hospital, Att: Michael Lawson, 1400 V.F.W. Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132.
