Vincent Augustine Bolger, Sr. died on January 31, 2011 at the age of 94. A lifelong resident of Boston. Vincent was the son of the late Vincent & Genevieve (McCarthy) Bolger. A graduate of Boston Catholic and public schools and a Burdett Business College. He was appointed to the Boston Fire Department in 1943 while serving overseas in the United States Navy during W. W. II. He retired from Boston Fire Department as District Chief back in 1981. Vincent served as a naval reservist, Chief Yeoman following W.W.II. He and his wife of 60 years Pauline (Tully) Bolger met in Boston while they both were serving in the United States Navy. Vincent was a 75 years founding member of the Boston Sparks Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by family members Edward Gerstel and Norma Powers. His godsons Joseph Fleming, Deputy Fire Chief, BFD, and Brian Powers and his 2 nephews Mark Gerstel and James Powers and other loved nieces and nephews. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
