Veronica M. “Ronnie” Hegarty

Hegarty, Veronica M. (Yankum) “Ronnie” of Plymouth, died October 26, 2020 at the age of 103. 

Ronnie’s center of her life was her family and spending time with all those she loved.  She had a passion for shopping and was known for her amazing fashion sense.  Ronnie enjoyed reading, watching TV and her weekly Saturday hair appointments at Charles David Salon.  Ronnie will be remembered as a strong, sharp minded, feisty woman.  She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Hegarty and the late Joseph H. Bosse.  Loving mother of Jeannette Bourett of Texas, James Bosse and his wife Jeanne of South Easton, Darlene Leavitt and her husband Paul of Plymouth, Maureen Johnson and her life partner Joseph Rabbottino of South Easton and the late Claire Whealan-Burke, Joseph Bosse and Ronald Bosse.  Cherished mother in law of Janet Bosse of Weymouth and Diana Sides of Plymouth.  Devoted Nana of 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.  Caring daughter of the late Joseph and Sophia Yunkum.  Adored sister of the late Stephanie Renzi, Helen Reynolds and Stephen Yankum. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 8:30-9:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Cremation will follow. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ronnie may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. 

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although some may not be able to gather together with Ronnie’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by visiting sharing a special memory or message here.
