Vernon E. Gingras

Gingras, Vernon E. of Weymouth, formerly of Milton, died February 18, 2019. He was 98.

Vernon proudly served in the US Army during WWII. His expertise with both the pistol and the rifle, as well as his intelligence and education, led to his being recruited by the OSS, which he was very proud of. Vernon received his Masters Degree in Business and Finance from Northeastern University. He had a lifelong career in management with Pan American World Airways. Vernon was an avid reader, particularly works of non-fiction and took great pleasure in gardening and landscaping, as well as spending time by the ocean. He will be dearly missed.

Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Murphy) Gingras. Devoted father of Brian Gingras of Braintree and Donna Gingras of Fort Myers, FL. Loving brother of Dorothy “Gigi” Malone of Gulfport, MS. Cherished uncle of 6 nieces and nephews and 9 grand nieces and nephews. Also blessed with lifelong neighbors and great friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), South Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, will follow.
