Vasilika (Adams) Anastas of Quincy formally of South Boston passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the age of 110.
Vasilika was born in Korçë, Albania on December 15, 1912 to the late John and Sofia Adams. Beloved wife of the late James Anastas. Sister to the late Katina Mitrushi, Jenka Melo, Spiro Adams and Rako Adams. Devoted Aunt to Dita (Mitrushi) Hennessey, Alexander and Brenda Mitrushi, and the late Mary (Mitrushi) Beaudry, Lillian (Mitrushi) Flaherty and Anthony Mitrushi. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews across multiple generations.
Vasilika immigrated to the United States in 1933 and settled in South Boston. She worked as a stitcher at the Cable Raincoat Co. and then retired as a Sales Associate from Filenes Dept Store in Boston. Vasilika loved to travel and spend time with family.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at South Cove Manor of Quincy for their care and compassion.
Vasilika and her husband were Red Sox season ticket holders. She often spoke of watching Ted Williams play.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday from 10-10:30 AM in St. George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral, 523 E Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127 followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations in Vasilika’s name can be made to the Jimmy Fund at www.jimmyfund.org/
