Valdimar J. “Val” Peterson

Peterson, Valdimar J. “Val” of Quincy, died May 6, 2017.  

Val was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. He was a lifelong New England Patriots fan, enjoyed playing golf and traveling the world.

He was a member of the Quincy Knights of Columbus and the Quincy Elks. Val proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Korea. He had a mischievous sense of humor and above all else, a fierce love for his family. Val will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Beloved husband of 56 years to Gloria (Mitrushi) Peterson of Quincy. Loving father of Wayne Peterson of Quincy, Eric Peterson and his wife Rebecca of Arlington, and Kristine Peterson of Maui, HI. Devoted “Grampy” of Emily, Ethan, Matthew, and Sarah.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Val may be made to Semper Fi Fund, 825 College Blvd, Suite 102, PMB 609, Oceanside, CA 92057.
