Trina A. Higgins

Higgins, Trina A. (Johnson) of Braintree, passed away, February 9, 2015.

Beloved wife and “luckiest girl in the world”, who 17 years ago met the love of her life, Richard Higgins of Braintree.  Loving mother of Jacy Higgins of Braintree.  Cherished sister of Kristin Croci of Framingham and her late husband Carl Croci, Gretchen Porter of Braintree and her late husband Eric Porter, Liisa Waugh and her husband Bill of Kansas and the late Lauren Fiscina. Trina is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends. 

For 18 years, Trina worked as a Probation Officer in the Dorchester District Court. In 2006, she was the recipient of the Probation Officer of the Year.  Trina was an accomplished three sport varsity athlete and was inducted into the Braintree High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1995 for her athleticism in Softball. Trina enjoyed all sports and continued competing after college. She completed the Boston Marathon raising money for ALS in honor of her coach, Lucy Ciesla. She was a triathlete, avid skiier and mountain biker. She had a passion for life and touched everyone she met.  She had great integrity, compassion and strength and and epitomized the Finnish word SISU.  She will not be forgotten. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours 1-5 PM on MONDAY  in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at TUESDAY 9:00 AM prior to the Funeral Service in First Congregational Church, 12 Elm Street, Braintree, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
