Toni “Grammie” Clark

Antoinette Marie (Bokelman) Clark passed away surrounded by her three daughters on Monday, March 3, 2025. Toni was 75.

Known lovingly to most as Grammie since 2014, Toni was born and raised in Wisconsin. She met her husband and best friend, Donald Clark, in graduate school in Washington D.C. and was married in 1979. Toni worked as a bedside nurse and clinical educator in D.C. and Maryland for 50 years and was working as a remote case manager until late December 2024. With an unwavering passion for caring for others, Toni left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was known for her kindness and tireless dedication to those around her. Even when her own health was at stake, she never stopped, even reading over family charts to offer guidance and comfort.

Toni's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was a proud mother to three daughters and cherished her role as Grammie to eight beautiful grandchildren. Toni’s love for her family was evident in the special memories she created, often through her crafty talents and generosity. She was well-known for making Halloween costumes and holiday décor for her daughters and grandchildren, bringing joy and creativity to many occasions. After relocating permanently to Hingham in 2021, Toni took extreme pride in cementing her title of the greatest of all time Grammie to old and new friends in her adopted South Shore community.

Toni and Don were the pioneers of “binge watching” and she truly enjoyed the time they spent together. When Toni wasn’t crafting, she was hunting for deals at Macy’s and Old Navy. These shopping trips were rooted in generosity and most of her door buster deals ended up being gifts to those she and her daughters loved.

Beloved wife of 46 years to the late Donald J. Clark Jr.; Devoted mother to Kate Dewey and her husband Chris of Hingham, Beth Chiasson and her wife Aimee of Weymouth and Megan Chesonis and her husband Kris of Colorado Springs. Adoring Grammie to Emma, Claire, Quincy, Zoey, Remy, Violet, Nate and Clark (born 3.4.25). Loving sister to Ron Bokelman and his wife Marti, Mark Bokelman and his wife Clare, Wayne Bokelman and his wife Vicki, Greg Bokelman, Liz Bokelman, Pat Bokelman, the late Judy Levesque and her husband Joel, the late Daniel Bokelman and his surviving wife Arlene, and the late Bob Bokelman and his wife Cheryl. Toni is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family on both the Clark and Bokelman family sides.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held in Hingham on June 11, 2025. Family, friends, and all the special children Toni loved dearly are invited to celebrate Toni’s life.

A special Thank You is extended to the team of dedicated nurses, “Dr. Wisconsin”, and Dr. Wulf for their extraordinary care of Toni at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
