Coffey, Timothy M. of Quincy formerly of Dorchester, passed away March 8, 2011. Beloved husband of Virginia M. (White) Coffey of Quincy. Loving father of Virginia Drury of Hanover, Joseph Coffey and his wife Margie of Rockland and David Coffey of Quincy. Brother of the late May Wycoff and John Coffey. Timothy was the cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Timothy was born in Rumson, NJ. He lived in Dorchester for many years before settling in Quincy where he lived for the past 55 years. Timothy worked for the MBTA for 30 years as a bus driver before retiring at age 59. Timothy enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling with his wife Virginia. Timothy was an avid gardener and handyman. Timothy was a WWII veteran, from the Americal Division, and served in Guadalcanal. He was also a proud member of the National Guard with 33 years of service. Most of all Timothy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 5-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
